Chapter 15

Reagan

Heaven on Earth.

The way Jake has me pinned to his soft cloud of a bed and is literally claiming me as his own is sending me places, places I never thought I’d be going. I’ve always thought of myself as independent and never to be owned by anyone, but the way Jake says it, I’m glad to be his. The way he drops his mouth to mine and proves his claim, I’m glad to give in to it.

I’m already stark naked in broad daylight, stretched across his bed. I don’t think I could be any more vulnerable than this. Yet, I feel confident, because Jake does so much to let me know how attracted he is to me, and how much I mean to him.

How could I walk away?

I shove that thought from my mind. I’m actively avoiding thinking about the future. All I want, all I can think of right now, is being with this man again. This tall, built, tattooed, big-dicked hunk of a man with an award-winning voice that he uses to seduce me. A man who wrote me a song that, even without his guitar and vocal skills, would have sewn my heart back together just as quickly.

His queen. He calls me his queen. It would be insanely corny if it wasn’t so intertwined with my name and the way he’s spoken to me since we met. Every time he says it, I get chills because I know that he truly believes it. It’s no pet name; for him, it’s an observation, and a promise that he’ll always treat me with respect and dignity.

God... I love this man.

I let him take me. For what feels like the first time in... ever, I allow another person to have full control over my body and my mind. He kisses me deeply, still holding my wrists above my head. When his lips drag away, sliding down my jaw to kiss my neck, I speak in a breathless voice, “Baby... I want you to take me.’

“Oh, I am,” he mumbles against my skin, but I shake my head.

“I don’t mean that lightly, Jake...” He stops and lifts his eyes, listening intently now. “I mean I want you to do whatever you please to me, claim my body and make it yours. Show me you love me by losing control of yourself, and taking control of me.”

His eyelids grow heavier, his gaze turning darker with each of my words. Gradually, his grip around my wrists tightens, as well.

“Are you sure, baby?” he asks deeply. “Because what you’re asking is dangerous... and honestly,” he draws his lips against mine, breathing over my mouth, “what you’re asking is something you can never come back from.”

My resolve doesn’t falter. I’m not scared, but I ask anyway, “What do you mean by that?”

He clenches his jaw, drawing his hand from my hip to between my legs, easily sliding his finger down between my folds. I gasp lightly, opening my mouth against his.
